Evidence Review: Witness Preparation With Rev AI (Part 3)
Learn how Rev Insights revolutionizes legal discovery by analyzing transcripts across multiple sources to uncover contradictions and discrepancies instantly.

Hi, I'm Katie, and welcome back to our evidence review series. In parts one and two, we used Rev to capture evidence and uncovered contradictions across discovery with Rev.
Now for part three—witness preparation—this is where Rev’s AI and searchable transcripts transform how you develop cross-examination strategies and prepare for testimony.
Search Multiple Sources At Once
Here I have multiple transcripts from the same witness:
- Their initial police statement
- A formal interview
- Body cam footage of the incident
Instead of manually comparing across all of these transcripts and pages, I can use Rev Insights. So let me ask Rev a question. I’ll say:
“Summarize all key facts this witness stated about what happened at the crime scene.”
In just a second, Rev is going to show me the answer.
So Rev is showing me that in the initial statement, the witness said she didn’t observe any physical contact. But in Rev I can see that she clarifies in her formal interview that there was pushing and shoving between the brothers.
These kinds of inconsistencies are gold for cross-examination.
Strategic Refinement With Citations
I can check it out with a citation. If I click on that citation, I’ll see exactly where she says this in the interview. Now I know what I need to cite—if I need to cite it.
Next, I can ask more strategic questions to further refine what I’m trying to do. I’ll ask:
“What specific details about the incident did this witness change between their initial statement and the formal interview?”
Rev identifies a full five different changes between those two statements.
For each finding—just like before—I can click directly into the transcript and see the exact moment through the citation. That way, I can verify that what Rev is telling me through the AI chat is correct.
Cross-Examination Prep With AI Assistance
I can even start to take the next step in cross-examination prep here. Let me ask Rev to start generating some cross-examination questions for me.
So here I can see that Rev has created some really great starting points for me. Again, it has specific citations of where exactly the witness’s story changed. These are a great backbone of strategy.
From Manual Review to Strategic Advantage
That’s how Rev transforms witness preparation—from hours of manual work into minutes. It takes it from hoping you have enough time to catch the inconsistencies before trial to systematically identifying every contradiction with exact citations.
In our final video, I’ll show you how this preparation pays off during trial with Rev’s real-time search and evidence presentation capabilities.
