Speaker 1 (00:00):
… partnership that we have. The way you support our troops at LUD, Your Excellency, the line of communication we've had together, which has been robust ever since the beginning of this administration, and then especially since the events that have transpired over the last month, we want to thank you. I also want to thank you for the release of the Americans detained in Afghanistan, the American, Amir Amiri, on September 28th. Qatar mediated that, just like you have been a core part of what has unfolded in Gaza, a historic moment. No one other than President Trump could have achieved the peace, that what we believe will be a lasting peace, in Gaza, and Qatar played a substantial role from the beginning working with our folks to ensure that came about. So I want to thank you for that historic peace. I look forward to joining the president as that gets… It's already been delivered, but as that's formally signed as well.
(00:55)
And I'm also proud that today we're announcing, or we're signing a letter of acceptance, to build a Qatar-Amiri Air Force facility at the Mountain Home Air Base in Idaho. The location will host a contingent of Qatari F-15s and pilots to enhance our combined training, increase lethality, interoperability is just another example of our partnership, and I hope you know Your Excellency, that you can count on us. We saw in Midnight Hammer in those moments when we needed support in the region, that Qatar was there, without a doubt, without a blink, and that has meant a great deal. I've had the opportunity to see that firsthand operationally. I want to thank you. I want to thank your country for that, for hosting our troops, and it's wonderful to welcome you to Pentagon. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Thank you very much. Thank you. If I may say some words. Mr. Secretary, thank you for your warm welcomes and kind remarks. It is an honor to be at the Pentagon and to meet with you as we reaffirm the strong, enduring partnership between the state of Qatar and the United States. Our nations share a deep defense relationship grounded in a mutual respect and a common vision for peace and stability in the Middle East. Qatar hosting of the U.S. forces at Al Udeid Air Base stand as a cornerstone of this alliances and a testament to our collective commitment to regional and global security. Mr. Secretary, we welcome President Trump executive order, reaffirming American commitment to Qatar's security and sovereignties.
(02:40)
It reflects the strength of our alliances and our shared belief that peace is the best preserved through strength and partnership. We also value the close cooperation between Doha and Washington that led to the signing of the Gaza Peace Plan on October 8th. This historic achievement underscore what can be accomplished when our nations work together with courage and trust amongst other partners such as Egypt and Turkey. We further welcome today's signing of the letter of acceptance, establishing a Qatar-Amiri Air Force Facility and Mountain Home Air Base in Idaho. This steps strengthen [inaudible 00:03:25], enhance joint readiness, and advance our shared defense goals. Mr. secretary. Together we will continue to deepen this strategic partnership in pursuit of lasting peace and shared security. Thank you very much.
